Anne Bonny; made for Kay Dolls' Famous Women in History contest. Anne Bonny was one of the first- and most famous- female pirates; I'm quite aware of the fact that she was not a pretty woman (she lived the majority of her life as a man) but I was watching Cutthroat Island when drawing this and Gina Davis sort of took over the idea in my head... ;) Pearl; made for Nim's Grey Doll contest. The dress was inspired by a French gown from the late 1700's that I saw in a Simplicity catalogue- the real one was much more colorful but I actually like it better in charcoal. :)

Urania, the Muse of Astronomy; made as an example for my Mnemosyne's Nine contest. I'm not entirely sure it should be in this section, though... *SHRUG* Paloma; Whoo- another pirate! :D Like my Anne Bonny doll, I'm not sure how historically accurate this is... but I really like the way the parrot turned out! ;) This one was made for Milla's pirate project- go check it out by clicking on the doll! :)

Juliana; this was based on a 'Southern Belle' costume I saw in a Simplicity catalogue- I'm not sure how realistic the colors are but if anyone asks, she's from the 'Gothic South' era... ;) Friendly Game of Darts; this was made for a contest at Solace's Meadow, in which a crime must be hinted at but not actually shown (i.e. no blood, body, etc...). What a challenge! ^^
