SITE

Q: Who is your website host?
A: My site is set up through
BlueFish Web Hosting.

I highly recommend them to anyone who's looking for a great host- their pricing plans are wonderfully inexpensive and they're very reliable. ^_^

PERSONAL

Q: What do I call you (Sabraelle, Dalliann, Destiny...)?
A: I'd prefer Dalliann.

Destiny's my real name (so I use it for copyright info and stuff) but it feels a bit weird to be called that online for some reason. ;) Sabraelle is actually the site mascot but since I've been lazy and haven't posted any pictures of her, yet, it only makes sense that there'd be some identity confusion. ^^'

Q: When is your birthday?
A: Uh, I'm not telling. ^^'

I really do appreciate everyone who's tried to send me birthday gifts but there's a reason I don't give out my birthdate. Birthdays depress me terribly so I like to pretend I don't have one. Instead of celebrating my birthday, my family likes to surprise me on a random day of my birth month with "Happy Wednesday-Day" or "Happy Dark and Gloomy Day" greetings. ^_^

If you still feel compelled to send me a card for the anniversary of my birth, I'm a Libra and it's in October- but that's all you're getting out of me! ;) Send me Halloween greetings, instead- I'm always up for celebrating Halloween! :D

Q: How old are you?
A: Currently, I'm twenty-two.

It makes me cry. *sniffles* Luckily, most people think I'm only fourteen so that makes me feel much younger- though, it does make me wonder why they think that... ^^'

Q: Will you be my sister?
A: Only if we've been great friends for over a year and we know a lot about each other.

Before becoming sisters with anyone I want to be really good friends with them, first; if we decide to become sisters later it should be because we share the same interests and like talking with one another. :) I'm always looking for new dolling friends, though! ^_^

MY DOLLS

Q: What program do make your dolls in?
A: I make all of my dolls from scratch in MSPaint.

However, I use Irfan View to save them as gifs.

Q: How do you make gifs with MSPaint?
A: Um, I don't. I use Irfan View.

While I do use MSPaint to draw my dolls, I use the free program Irfan View to save them as gifs- and I highly recommend it to others! It's free for download and pretty simple to use. If you're interested in learning more about this program, please visit their official site. And be sure to check out Xandorra's awesome tutorial about the program, too!

Q: Do you take requests?
A: I'm sorry but no.

My schedule is so jam-packed with stuff that finding time to doll at all is often difficult. If my free time increases in the future, I'll probably change my stance on this, though. :)

Q: Why don't you use other people's bases?
A: The simple answer is that I don't feel comfortable using other people's bases.

There are some gorgeous bases out there that I absolutely adore- but every time that I've tried to make a doll on one, it's come out horribly. Subconsciously, I think I feel like I'm mutilating their bases with my own wayward pixels... When I work with my own bases, however, I have no such anxieties. Also, if I want to change something about the base to make an in-progress doll easier to work with, I don't have to ask anyone but myself for permission. ;)

Q: Will you enter my contest?
A: It depends on both my schedule and whether I'm fond of the subject contest.

I love entering contests and I try to enter as many as I can but my free time is extremely tight so I can't ever promise to enter anything.

Also, I never enter contests that deal with subjects like casual dress, base edits, or anything gory; I do like contests that are fantasy, cartoon, or culturally-themed. If you're holding a contest that you think I'd like, email me about it- I'd love to check out the details. :)

TERMS OF USE (DOLLS & BASES)

Q. Will you please add colored/pre-shaded bases?
A: No. I changed my bases from pre-shaded to black and white for several reasons and I will NOT be changing them back.

Firstly, only offering bases in lineart form saves a lot of space; why should I waste memory and bandwidth displaying the exact same dolls, just in different colors.

Secondly, a lot of people don't like the way I shade my dolls so leaving them blank allows them to be shaded to each doller's tastes.

Lastly, I want to see people putting effort into their dolls- shading your bases should be part of that effort. Plus, for every base you shade, you'll get that much closer to mastering this skill. So please, DO NOT EMAIL ME WITH REQUESTS TO PRE-SHADE MY BASES! I will no longer be answering such emails because I've made my position on this subject absolutely clear. Thank you.

Q: May I use one your doll's faces?
A: I do not allow the finished faces of my dolls to be used- if a face is not offered with a base, it means you have to make your own.

My reasoning for this is going to sound cliché but just bear with me... You know that saying 'If you give a man a fish you feed him for one day but if you teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime'? That's kind of the way I feel about this. Faces are one of the most challenging parts of dolling for me, so I completely sympathize with not wanting to deal with making them from scratch- but doing so does improve your dolling skills! :)

I know I'm going to irritate a lot of people by saying 'no' to this question (and I'm sorry!) but I feel that it would be more beneficial to have tutorials on making faces than it would be to just hand out the rights to using ones already in existence. I'll get to work on the tutorials very soon- if there are any specific facial features you'd like me to go more in-depth with please let me know! :)

Q: May I please make a small edit to one of your bases?
A: Absolutely not.

Because of experiencing WAY too many abuses of my permission, I have enacted a no-tolerance base edit policy. This means that my bases may be edited in NO WAY aside from adding clothes, faces, and hair. They may not be resized or reshaped in any way and you may not swap body parts between other bases I've made. This policy also forbids using faces from one base series on a different base series- don't do it. I won't bend on this rule so please don't ask me; follow my rules as they're written or find a different base.
